Projects

Featuring music from influences of contemporary jazz by the likes of Immanuel Wilkins, Gard Nilsson and Norman Wilmore, Liam leads a band looking for a sound rooted in chordless ensembles, folk melodies and modern sounds. With their own twist on new age tunes and originals, they preform sets of heavily improvised music, combining elements of free, spiritual and modern jazz.

Helsfell came as an idea from Liam's home town of Kendal, it being the main road which takes you out towards the ancient Lake District. Whilst in search for this name, he was thinking of the spiritual music of Kenny Garret, Immanuel Wilkins and Byron Wallen. This project is the culmination of many hours of contemplation, pursuing and basking in the sounds of spiritual, folk and free music, as well as the Lakes. A place of calm and beauty. 

The sets aim to be one journey from start to finish. A real catharsis and reflection of each member of the band and the audience. Featuring a cast of incredible musicians, this music hopes to feed the soul and restore peace.
